Phil Gooch
Damon Ashton
Phil has spent over four decades in the commercial insurance world, working with one of the largest global insurers and making a name for himself along the way. His career highlights include designing and delivering national sales strategies, building strong insurer partnerships, and earning recognition for his expertise in both sales and underwriting. Before joining Portcullis Insurance Brokers, Phil led AXA’s Regional Sales team across London and the South East. These days, he channels his experience into developing insurer relationships and uncovering exciting new markets — always with a focus on delivering value for our clients.
With more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, Damon knows the business inside out. He began on the shop floor, quickly rising through the ranks thanks to his drive, leadership skills, and a string of award-winning sales performances. After a decade of leading successful commercial insurance sales, Damon joined AXA’s management team, heading up their commercial direct sales force in the South West. At Portcullis, he’s a guiding hand in our corporate governance and strategy — making sure we stay on course and keep growing, always putting our clients first.
